when was the Delaware colony founded by who and why?
Delaware was founded in 1664 by Peter Minuit. The two major reasons why the Delaware was founded was that trade and agriculture made the state a great place to start a community. The soil was very fertile and for this reason it was great for agriculture. It had amazing forests which the colonies needed to construct their homes, government buildings and churches.
THe region of delaware Delaware is situated in the Middle Colonies.

Jobs that most people had in DelawareMost of the jobs in Delaware were farming, fishing, shell fishing. Some of the traders would swap goods for food,clothing, and fur pelts from the Native Americans. Women would contributed by crafting, selling clothes, and essentials for daily life. Paper mills and grist mills got lots of jobs for citizens in different areas like shipbuilding factories. Some of the Delaware citizens engaged exchanges for services for economic growth. They were teachers, doctors, and tailors.

Crops the colonists GrewSome of the crops included wheat, rye, oat, corn, flax seed, hay, barley, and most of all was tobacco. They also get regular produce. Tobacco was the crop that was most prosperous.

What was daily life like?
The daily life in Delaware was very enjoyable. The people were very accessible and friendly and had amazing surroundings. The people welcomed different types if religions and beliefs were everybody was equal. Life was difficult, it was tough to survive without easy access to food. The people had to work more than 1 job because sometimes they couldn't afford to put food on their table. Somehow people made it thorough in spite of the obstacles. There wasn't a supermarket to purchase food. The people had to depend on their livestock and crops to have food. Families in Delaware went to church and chilled around the fire at their house. The kids liked to play games or play with dolls.
clothing of the colonists
The guys wore wool and linen shirts. They also wore heavy coats and pants that they used to call breeches. The girls and women wore long dresses with petticoats and hooded cloaks. In addition the women, wore aprons and white caps. Boys and girls that looked like the grown- ups. The males wore boots and the females also wore leather boots as well.
types of homes the colonists bulit
The houses where made of many different styles. The types of houses the colonists built depended on how much money they had. Their homes were built according to the building materials that they could easily access. The colonists were forced to build their homes as quickly as possible because of the harsh winters and hot summers.
local government
The colonial government had a democratic system. They had a governor and a governor's court system. The government ran the way it did in England. The Governor was very important because he represented the King. The Governor was in charge of making laws and was also in charge of the army. During that time period it was called "the militia". Only men had the right to vote and to own land. The men were required to pay taxes and supported the church.
entertainment
The colonists idea of entertainment was going to church. At church they had fun dancing, eating, and playing games. The women liked to sew and to make quilts. The men liked to have shooting competitions as a fun activity. The reading of poetry and books was also done for fun which they all enjoyed.
religion was important
The reason why they came to the New World was to be able to practice freedom of religion. This is the reason why religion was the center of their lives. In the colonies nobody could tell you how to worship. Their belief in God and the teachings of the church helped them deal with all the hardships they had to deal with daily in the colonies.
